US Highway 101 runs directly through Willits and intersects State Highway 20, which runs from Willits to Fort Bragg on the Mendocino Coast.

Willits Municipal Airport serves the Willits area for private planes.

The Charles M. Schulz – Sonoma County Airport (STS) is the closest commercial airport to Mendocino County. Located less than an 1.5 hours from Willits, it provides affordable parking and taxi service to rental car agencies in Santa Rosa.
