Leza, Donnie & Friends

Leza îs a Brazilian psych-pop/surf rockband formed in São Paulo (Brazil) by Gustavo Athayde AKA Gusley. With multiple influences – from California bands like the Gratefull Dead, to Brazilian Tropicalia sounds(Os Mutantes, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil,Jorge Ben).

Donnie & Friends features our local harmonica (aka Mississippi Saxophone) player Donnie, joined by local friends and fellow musicians possibly including Gary Bouley, Jeff Martin, Rasta Sean and Tom G. among others, playing an improvisational variety of Chicago style Blues, Rock, Funk, Latin & West African music.

Donnie is originally from the bay area, and honed his talents sitting in with Black Masters of the blues at Friday Night Fish Frys, and Jam Nights primarily in Oakland, San Francisco & Berkeley. Formed from the love of music, come on out for a fun night with musicians that you’ve come to know at our local Open Mic events!
